Elegant Dance in Green

      In this series, there are not only the fresh and rich scenes of the lotus leaves swaying in the wind, but also the quiet peaceful postures with a sense of simplicity. Whether it's an amazing dance or a gentle fragrance, it is more appropriate to say that it shows my state of mind instead of painting the scenery of nature. The rhythmic sense of the brisk change in watercolor is very suitable for expressing emotions. Compared with the creation of other media, watercolor painting is non-repeatable. When painting, one has to pay attention to every stroke without any regrets. When I paint, I always render as much as I can and complete the painting quickly without any interruption. The changing rhythm of color in my works actually expresses the entrustment and the touch of my soul.

      The charm of color lies in its tone to express emotion. What the viewers can see are the tones in the images, but what they really feel are the artist's emotions and feelings. Green is the color usually present when plants grow. Because of that, the ancients also referred to "green" as the symbolic meaning of "life". In traditional Chinese culture, green is the color of nature with the meaning of growth, prosperity, coolness, youth, and elegance. In this series of paintings, I try to use green series of colors such as "cyan, green, emerald, bluish-green, blue, and dark cyan" as flexibly as possible. They are elegant and beautiful but not high-profile, while fresh but not monotonous, expressing the pleasing oriental-style color effects.

      In addition to being visually pleasing, I also value the spirit and the content. This series of paintings is mainly based on freehand brushwork, emphasizing artistic charm and pursing vitality, through the means of moving space, coloring with shapes, etc. The connection between all colors and all forms is developed in the moist watercolor. It has to be soft but not chaotic as well as showing beauty in the hazy image. The swaying lotus appears softer and shinier in the water with the background blurring in a mist. Same as Chinese paintings, watercolor paintings also emphasize an artistic conception. The interesting thing is that they seem to be speechless meanwhile very talkative. Under the dynamic color change and the thoughtful color scheme, I pursue a kind of elegant and natural charm as well as explore vigorously the beauty of artistic conception which is full of vitality.
