Extremely Rich Contents


“Extremely Rich Contents” is derived from “Stele of Changsha Pavilion at Mount Maoby Tao Hongjing of the Southern Dynasty, Although, all things have many forms and colors, they cannot escape from the Yin and Yang. Although various rules are similar and different, they cannot surpass the realm of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism. This refers to the myriad phenomena exhibited by various things in the universe. In this series, I have tried to observe the lotus pond in a novel way. The geometric division of the picture represents different viewing perspectives.  "Watching" is a subjective behavior, representing the viewer's perspective and thinking. Such as “Looking at the leopard from the hole in the bamboo tube, you can see a patch of markings on the leopard's body.” (The parable sees only a part or the parable can be inferred from the part observed to the whole picture.) Another example is “Time passes quickly like a white pony's shadow across a crevice”, which will produce strange visual effects and obtain emotional experiences different from the usual.

I have divided this series into two parts. One is named "Hidden Beautiful Spot", which emphasizes the expression of the sense of a section from the perspective of a "window". The other is named “Amazing Destiny in the Mirror”, which shows a variety of scenes like those seen in a kaleidoscope. This series uses the artistic conception in famous poems to express and create, depicting the scenes of lotus ponds in different situations: there is the dusk scene of "The Evening Breeze Traps the Flowing Clouds"; and the hazy and tired feeling of "Sleep under the Green Window in Spring"; there is the clear sky and warm sun of the "Warm Pool Full of Spring Scenery" and also the energetic spirit of the “Purple Pond Presents Auspicious Sign". The four seasons of sunshine and rain in the lotus pond complement the beauty of poetry, filled with unique poetic emotions and picturesque artistic conception.

This group of works is free and unrestrained in form, and the use of colors is also full of collisions of contrasts. The shape, position, and interrelationships of the painting’s segmentation are vivid and interesting expressions that transform abstract textual descriptions into intuitive and distinct graphical language. The separation of the picture is also a visual dynamic expression. The spatial relationship is formed through the interweaving, surrounding and overlapping of different colors. It can also show changes in time, similar to the chronological sequences found in comics, showing a strong narrative.

The interest and beauty of the lotus pond have endless charm, and the perspective of the painter and the viewer are also different. Hopefully, I can bring a brand-new viewing experience to the audience through this series of works and jointly explore our own unique experience of beauty.

森羅萬象


森羅萬象,出自南朝梁陶弘景《茅山長沙館碑》:“夫萬象森羅,不離兩儀所育;百法紛湊,無越三教之境。”这是指宇宙世界各種事物展現出的萬千氣象。在這個系列中,我嘗試以一種新穎的方式來觀察荷塘,畫面的幾何分割代表了不同的觀看視角。“觀看”是一種主觀的行為,代表了觀看者的視角與思考,如“管中窺豹,可見一斑”,又如“白駒過隙”的稍縱即逝有趣的觀看方式會產生奇特的視覺效果,獲得不同於往常帶來的情感體驗。

我將這個系列分為兩個部分,其一命名為“別有洞天”,從“視窗”的角度來著重表達局部感;其二命名為“鏡中奇緣”,展現出如同萬花筒中所見的紛繁景象。這個系列以詩詞名句中的意境進行表達與創作,描繪出不同情境下的荷塘景象:有“晚風困流霞”的黃昏景致,有“绿窗春睡輕”的朦朧倦意;有“池暖遍春色”晴空暖陽,亦有“紫池呈瑞氣”的生動情態。荷塘的晴雨四時與詩詞的唯美相得益彰,充滿了別樣的詩情畫意。

 這組作品在形式上自由奔放,色彩的使用也充滿了碰撞的對比。畫面分割的形狀、位置,以及相互之間的關係都是生動有趣的表達方式,令抽象的文字描述轉化為直觀可感的圖形語言。畫面的分隔也是一種視覺上的動態表現,通過不同色彩的穿插、圍繞、疊壓形成的空間關係,也可以表現出時間的變化,類似漫畫中的閱讀引導方式,呈現出強烈的敘述性。

荷塘的趣味與美麗,擁有無窮無盡的魅力,繪畫者的視角與觀者亦有所不同。希望通過這個系列的作品,為觀眾帶來全新的觀看體驗,共同挖掘獨屬自己的美的體驗。
