Ink Rhyme with Fragrance


       Black is a color without light, while with a strong feeling. It gives people heavy and deep visual experiences. Because of its great ability of integration and absorption, it also shows rich connotations, hierarchy and diversity. In Chinese painting, "ink is divided into five colors". It seems that there is only one black color, while in fact the depth and shade contain various levels and details. It embodies the painter's rich and delicate emotions. Black has the meaning of infinite far-reaching broadness. It has infinite possibility and uncertainty, full of mystery as well as endless charm.

      Henri Matisse, a Fauvist painter, once said that "black can be compared with a solo bass." "When I don't know what color to use, I choose black. It is a force that I use to simplify the structure." Black plays a unique role in the structure and color of works. It has a powerful charm that attracts painters of all ages. It is favored with its rich expressive force and distinctive artistic effect. It has accumulated its special visual and cultural meaning in the long history and formed its own particular color charm.

      All things are flashy. I find out more and more that black can convey the inner essence of things. I keep trying to express my subtle feelings of life as well as interpret my inner world and expect to discover new possibilities. In this series, black is used not only to shape the light and color, but also to express the temperament and interest as well as render artistic conception, in order to create a profound aesthetic atmosphere and fully present the charm of the lotus. It not only respects the nature in expression, but also is superior to the natural fact in thought, which makes it have realistic appreciation at the same time, and reflects the ideological and artistic connotation of the work.

      Black and white is the main theme of the concept of form and color in Chinese painting. Since ancient times, it has been adhering to the concept of color with ink as the main and color as the auxiliary. "Painting Training" said, "As long as ink rhyme is sufficient, color can either be applied or not." The characteristic of water in watercolor painting and the sense of strength from the brush have some similarities with Chinese painting. Therefore, I try to create "ink rhyme" in watercolor painting and skillfully integrate the brush of Chinese ink painting into the creation of watercolor painting, so as to integrate the histories of Chinese and Western painting aesthetic. I attempt to endow watercolor painting with more distinct Chinese personality and poetic temperament, control shape with meaning, as well as pursue the beauty of concept and image. In this series, unrestrained lines and vigorous ink are adopted to show the free stretching leaves in the pool. With the help of the "ink rhyme" produced by the change of water content, it displays the lotus leaves' internal vigorous and upward momentum. I try to show a firm, mysterious and profound emotion in the picture, hoping to give people a deep feeling.

墨韻生香


  黑色即無光無色之色,有重感,給人以濃重而深沉的視覺感受,又因其巨大的融合能力和吸納能力,而呈現出豐富的內涵和層次性、多元性。中國畫有“墨分五色”,黑看似只有一種顏色,其實深淺濃淡中包含了各種層次和細節,蘊藏著畫家豐富而細膩的情感。黑色有著無限深遠、無限寬廣的意味,有著無限的可能性和不確定性,充滿神秘感和無窮的魅力。

  野獸派畫家馬蒂斯曾說“黑色可以和獨奏低音提琴相比擬”,“當我不知道擺上什麼顏色好時。我就擺上黑色。黑色是一種力量,我借助它簡化結構。”黑色在作品的結構與色彩上都顯示出獨特的地位。它有種強大的魅力吸引著歷代畫家,以豐富的表現力和特殊的藝術效果備受青睞,並在歷史長河中積澱出了特有的視覺意味和文化意味,形成了獨特的顏色魅力。

  萬物浮華,我越來越發覺黑色能夠傳達事物的內在本質,不斷嘗試,期望發現新的可能,表現自己對生活的種種細微感受,詮釋自己的內心世界。這一系列運用黑色既塑造光色,又抒發情趣,渲染意境,以期營造出深厚的美學氣氛,充分呈現荷的韻味;既在表現上尊重自然,在思想上又高於自然事實,使其同時具有現實的觀賞性,又體現出作品的思想性和藝術內涵。

  黑白是中國畫形色概念的主旋律,自古以來就秉承著墨為主、色為輔的色彩觀。《畫訓》云:“墨韻既足,設色可,不設色亦可。”水彩畫的水的特質和畫筆的力量感,與中國畫有某種相似相通之處,於是我便嘗試在水彩畫中創造“墨韻”,將中國水墨畫的用筆融入到水彩畫創作中,融會中西繪畫美學的歷史,賦予水彩畫更為鮮明的中華個性與詩意氣質,以意馭形,追求理念和意象之美。這一系列以無拘無束的線條、酣暢淋漓的筆墨表現池中自由舒展的荷葉,借助水分變幻所產生的“墨韻”,展現其內在強勁的蓬勃向上之勢,我試著在畫面中表現出一種堅定的、神秘的、深邃的情感,希望給人以深刻的感受。
